Friday fog

I've lost all sense of time this week.   When I woke up today I couldn't remember what day it was.   I was up again til 1:30 a.m. and I went to bed after drinking a few Newcastles, so that probably had something to do with my disorientedness.

I went over to Peet's in Corte Madera to get to a caffeine fix.  As usual in the mornings, the line was wrapped around itself, like Ouroboros.    Still, I'm glad to have a Peet's coffee that's on the way to my workplace, and not have to spend 10 minutes driving out of my way to get there.  I know there's a few Peet's coffee places in San Francisco but I don't feel like looking for parking in San Francisco just to get coffee in San Francisco.  Meh.

I'm pretty exhausted from staying up late this week to take care of guild things, but at least the office is closing at 3 p.m. today for the Memorial Day weekend.    I gotta do my laundry when I get home, and take a nap.  So sleeeeeepy.

This weekend I also need to:
1.  Put together my exercise bike.
2.  Help my mother/stepfather get ready for their move down to Cambria next week. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambria,_California
3.  Work on my resume.    In particular, I need to finish my questionnaire for http://www.careerperfect.com/  (Monster's paid resume writing service).   I always seem to get stuck on the "what do you want to do for a career" part.   I'm almost 30 years old, and I'm still not sure what I want to do for the rest of my life.

As I posted before in an earlier blog, when I was in high school, I wanted to be a rapper (heh).  During the first two years of college, I wanted to be a novelist, but then I changed my mind about that, and decided to take general science/math/english/acting classes at College of Marin for three years, so I could "find" myself.  Then I decided just to get a degree in Computer Engineering (design of computer hardware) so I went to Sacramento State for three years.   It feels odd to have spent eight years in college and only have a Bachelor's degree.   But I can claim that I'm "well-rounded" because of all of the GE classes I took!

The irony is, is that if I wanted to get a job related to my college coursework, I'd have to move to San Jose, or San Diego.  I can't think of any chip manufacturing companies close to Marin County.

Right now, there's a grand total of four people in the office.  :P  I guess people decided to start their Memorial Day weekend early.   I'd be tempted to go home early too, if I didn't take me 40 minutes to drive to work, one way.  It would be cool if the next job I got, was located in Marin County so I didn't have the awful commute that I have now.
